Welcome to Northwest High School!

It is with great excitement that I serve the Waukee community as the first principal of Northwest High School. I consider it an honor to have the opportunity to open NWHS in the fall of 2021 and build a longstanding tradition of strong academics, athletics, and fine arts.

I have been devoted to education for twenty-two years. I started my career as a middle school art teacher in Spain, my country of origin, before moving to Omaha, Nebraska, where I became a Spanish teacher. I have been an administrator for fifteen years, having served in Omaha and Lincoln (Nebraska) and Columbia (Missouri) in different capacities before joining Waukee Community School District.

My husband, Oscar, is a professor at Truman State University, and our daughter Moira will be an 8th grader at Prairieview School. I am an avid reader and love everything art-related!

I look forward to the ideas, experiences, perspectives, and dreams that each of our teachers and students will bring to Northwest High School. This is a special beginning and a new adventure for all of us!
